Basic Information: Francisco Costa the director of Calvin Klein collection,, was born in Guarani Brazil on May 10,1961. He is currently 49 years old.

Personal Life: Francisco Costa is the second youngest of five children. His mom Maria Francisca owned a children’s factory and his dad Jacy Neves ran a small ranch. In 1981 when his mother died he left at 20 years old with a friend to New York and he spoke no English at all. He worked for Herbert Rounick and later on for Oscar de la Renta designing Japanese Licenses. Last in 2004 Costa met his partner John Destefano Jr. at a furniture store where Costa used to work. They've been together for fourteen years and they accompany each other to their events.
Education: When Costa got to New York he went to a language class at Hunter College to learn English and at night he took classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Contribution to Society: What makes Francisco Costa special or important is that he has been the best women's wear designer for two years. His fashion shows freedom in what girls can wear. He really cares about girls’ appearances and he has received some of the best awards a fashion designer could receive like the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Why I chose Francisco Costa: I chose Francisco Costa because he's the director of the Calvin Klein Collection and for a Latino to reach this far is tough especially for someone like him who didn't even know any English. He's a perfect role model for people who want to be somebody but think they can't. If Francisco Costa did it then any other person can too.
