Hey! My name is Giovanny Martinez. I have selected Manu Ginobili to highlight as a great role model for Hispanic Heritage Month. Please read about Manu Ginobili below and don’t forget to take the quiz at the end!

Basic Information:
Manu Ginobili was born on July 28,1977. He was born in Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is recently 33 years of age.

Personal Life:
Manu’s eldest brother retired from playing basketball in 2003 he played in Argentina and Spain. His father coached a team in Argentina where it was that Manu started his career in professional basketball. Manu got married to his wife Marianela Orono in 2004. Six years later his wife got pregnant and gave birth to twins Dante and Nicola.

He did not attend any college. He learned the sport of basketball in his father’s team in Argentina.

Contribution to Society:
Manu’s first contribution to society was when he and other NBA star’s visited a hospital that treated children living with HIV/Aids. He has a great commitment to kids. He was appointed a UNICEF ambassador where he will be in charge of bringing attention to his countries priority issues, especially if they involve affecting adolescents. The UNICEF is a voluntary contribution of individuals, foundations, and governments.

Why I chose Manu Ginobil:
I choose this person because he is a very good example of a Hispanic who has won the respect of doing what he does best which is playing basketball. He is also an inspiration to those Latinos who one day would like to be known as much as he is.
